Crystal Offers Newspaper Direct Program

Crystal Cruises is introducing Newspaper Direct, a same-day service enabling guests to receive a choice of more than 370 full-format newspapers from 65 countries.

Effective immediately with the World Cruise on Crystal Serenity and later in the year on Crystal Symphony, the papers are ordered onboard and delivered directly to one's room. Since its inception, Crystal has distributed news onboard but from a limited number of sources. The line's international guest mix has increased almost 30 percent in the past five years.

Newspaper Direct uses satellite communications to create full-format, same-day editions of an extensive menu of worldwide newspapers.

In addition to 74 U.S. editions and more than 40 from the U.K., the newspaper menu includes:

New York Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News, Chicago Tribune, The Kansas City Star, Albuquerque Journal and Charlotte Observer. Special interest publications available include Barron's, Investor's Business Daily, Hollywood Reporter, and Playbook (available for football and basketball).

International selections include:
Canada's Globe and Mail, Great Britain's Daily Telegraph, Australia's Sydney Morning Herald, Japan's Okinawa Times, Mexico's El Economista, Germany's Financial Times Deutschland, Brazil's O Globo, and South Africa's Sunday Times of Johannesburg.

The service will offer multiple publication choices from many of the regions. Many papers are offered daily, while some are offered only on selected days. Papers are available for $6.50 each, with a full list of selections and order forms in every stateroom.
