Cruise lines cater to families and provide entertainment, activities and fun for the whole family.
Listed below are the Family Cruise Programs offered by the major cruise lines
Carnival Cruise Lines
Carnival's Fun Ships offer childrens programs for each age group. Movies, cartoons, specific play areas, multiple swimming pools and water slides. Carnival provides children's menus and 24-hour pizza and ice cream. Babysitting services are available.
Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity provides summer activities for kids which are divided into four age groups. The cruise line provides many educational programs which teach children about science and the world of nature.
Upon boarding, kids receive special wristbands to identify them. When children are picked up from the youth center, parents must present their Celebrity-issued identification cards.
Crystal Cruises
Crystal's children's program for the summer cruise season offers games, video arcades, dancing classes and playrooms for the little ones.
Costa Cruises
Costa has a Kids Club program which offers scavenger hunts, Italian language lessons, "coke-tail" parties and karaoke. The Teens Club has activities for ages 15-17. Caribbean cruises offer "Parents Night Out," where children are supervised during evening activities.
Cunard Cruise Line
The Queen Mary 2 luxury ship provides activities for children in three different age groups. Other facilities include childrens pool, disco and video games.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney was obviously the first family friendly cruise line offering cruises geared towards kid friendly cruises.
Disney offers programs in five age groups, kids-only pool, teen club and activities on Disney's private island. Parents enjoy an adults-only pool, and nightly entertainment.
Holland America Cruise Line
Club HAL's childrens program on the Vista ships will be expanded for the entire Holland America fleet within the next two years. The private island, Half Moon Cay, offers a brand new waterpark area which provides fun for the entire family.
Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian offers the "Kid's Crew" program which has a year round program for children in the age group of 2 - 5 years old.
Kids 2 - 17 enjoy supervised parties and activities such as scavenger hunts, wacky cooking classes, tee-shirt painting and onshore activities.
Princess Cruises
Princess offers educational programs for kids which include the California Science Center and National Wildlife Federation.
Movies and video games on big-screen TVs. Private deck for kids, featuring grand, Whale's Tail Splash Pool.
Teens have a special, reserved deck area and pool for them.
Radisson Seven Seas Cruises
Radisson does not have activities for kids under six years of age.
Club Mariner program offers activities for kids ages 6-17 on many voyages including summer cruises on Seven Seas Voyager in the Baltic, Seven Seas Mariner in Alaska and Seven Seas Navigator in Bermuda.
Royal Caribbean International
Mariner of the Seas offers Challenger's Arcade, scavenger hunts, sports tournaments and art and science workshops. Teenagers hang out at Fuel nightclub, The Living Room or The Back Deck private deck
Rock-climbing, surfing, even ice skating. RCI's youth program, Adventure Ocean is reserved for kids age 3-17,
Specialized meals, theme parties,kids nightclub, and a unique television station with all their favorite programs.
